David Hewlett and Rachel Luttrell Sign the #SaveStargate Banner at Shore Leave 46

Two Stargate Atlantis leads have put their names on the #SaveStargate banner. David Hewlett (Dr. Rodney McKay) and Rachel Luttrell (Teyla Emmagan) were the official Stargate signing guests at Shore Leave 46, held July 10–12 at the Wyndham Lancaster Resort & Convention Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. According to the campaign, both stopped by the #SaveStargate table, posed for photos, and added their signatures to the banner alongside hundreds of fans, as reported by Cosmic Book News on July 13.

The campaign says hundreds of convention-goers visited its table over the weekend, that fans applauded the campaign during the Stargate Atlantis panel, and that more than 100 people signed the banner in a few hours on Sunday morning alone. #Stargate also climbed the trending charts on X as the convention wrapped, and the "Save Stargate with Martin Gero" petition — the one endorsed by the campaign's own hub at savestargate.com — is now closing in on 115,000 signatures.

The convention weekend was followed by wider coverage: on July 13 the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog reported the campaign's plans for SDCC. On Friday, July 24, organisers intend to fly a banner over the San Diego Convention Center between 11am and 1pm, followed by a #SaveStargate rooftop happy hour at Bay City Brewery (627 Eighth Ave) from 6pm to 9pm. No Comic-Con badge is required. The campaign's events page also flags an international day on July 18, its #SaveStargate Day on July 25, and a still-unexplained "SPACE" event marked CLASSIFIED for August 8.

Amazon MGM Studios has still said nothing publicly about the petition, the billboards, the flyovers or the growing list of cast members backing the campaign, more than a month after Variety reported that Martin Gero's series would not move forward. The fan effort, meanwhile, keeps producing exactly the kind of measurable demand signal the studio was reportedly unsure existed.
