#SaveStargate Sets July 25 as a Fandom-Wide "Day of Action" to Flood the Feed
The fan-led #SaveStargate campaign has picked a date for its next big push: Saturday, July 25, 2026, which organizers are calling #SaveStargate Day. The idea is simple — get fans, creators, podcasters, writers, streamers, artists and sci-fi communities to post positive Stargate content on the same day, under a single hashtag, to show Amazon MGM that the franchise still has an active, organized and welcoming audience.
According to the campaign's dedicated event page, the goal is to "flood the feed" across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, Bluesky, Threads, Reddit, podcasts, blogs and Discord. Suggested posts range from reviewing a favourite episode or character to explaining what Stargate means to you personally, with a firm request to keep everything positive and constructive — no infighting, harassment or doom-posting. Organizers have published a downloadable creator guide with talking points and reminders, and ask participants to direct newcomers to SaveStargate.com to sign the petition and find other ways to get involved.
The day of action is the latest step in a campaign that has kept up steady pressure since Amazon MGM scrapped Martin Gero's revived Stargate series. The studio greenlit the project in November 2025 and reached roughly 20 weeks of pre-production before news broke on June 2, 2026 that it would not move forward — reportedly out of concern it would appeal mainly to existing fans. Cast and crew from across SG-1, Atlantis and Universe have since amplified the effort, which frames itself as a series of escalating, positive "action days" rather than a one-off protest.
