The #SaveStargate campaign has crossed a notable threshold: the franchise's own actors are now organizing alongside the fans rather than issuing statements from a distance, and the support stretches across all three live-action series. In the days since Amazon canceled Martin Gero's planned new Stargate series, talent from SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe have joined the fan-run effort and even begun recruiting one another into a coordinated push.
Robert Patrick, who played Colonel Marshall Sumner in the Stargate Atlantis two-part pilot "Rising," announced he would personally take part in a fan-organized tweet storm timed to the June 16 banner flyover over Amazon MGM Studios in Culver City, posting that he had signed the petition and crediting Atlantis star Rachel Luttrell for the heads-up. Luttrell, who played Teyla Emmagan across all five seasons of Atlantis, has been rallying support and sharing behind-the-scenes archive photos to mark the occasion.
The roster kept growing as the flyover unfolded. Christopher Judge, Teal'c across all ten seasons of SG-1, marked the day with a pointed "#SaveStargate Indeed!", and fellow SG-1 actor Simone Bailly added her voice. From Universe, Peter Kelamis — recurring scientist Dr. Adam Brody — wrote, "I forgot how truly AWESOME Stargate fans are! Love you guys!!! Let's make it happen!!!" They join Michael Shanks, who has been among the most relentless voices since the cancellation broke, and longtime franchise producer Joe Mallozzi, the campaign's through-line from the start.
The cast mobilization comes as the broader effort keeps climbing. The "Save Stargate with Martin Gero" petition has surpassed 85,000 signatures, a fan-funded GoFundMe put a #SaveStargate banner plane in the sky over Amazon's Culver City lot, and organizers have leaned into staying coordinated rather than letting the backlash become a pile-on. Reports indicate Amazon canceled Gero's series despite a completed 20-week writers room and pre-production already underway in the UK, with filming set for the fall — a decision widely tied to an executive shakeup. Amazon MGM Studios has yet to publicly address the fan revolt, the petitions, or the flyover.
