Four Stargate Movies Just Left Prime Video — Here's Where to Watch Them Now
A batch of Stargate films dropped off Amazon Prime Video's included-with-Prime catalogue as of today, August 1. The long-running tracker Expiring Titles on Amazon Prime lists four franchise titles in the same expiry batch — flagged as "Expiring Early: available until 9 PM PDT on Friday 7/31" — covering the original Stargate (1994), Stargate: The Ark of Truth (2008), Stargate: Continuum (2008) and Stargate Origins: Catherine (2018).
Cord Cutters News flagged the removals on July 21, reporting that the 1994 film, Origins: Catherine and The Ark of Truth would all leave the service after August 1. That report also said Continuum was not scheduled to depart — a claim the expiry tracker contradicts by listing it alongside the other three. Anyone still hoping to stream Continuum on Prime should check the listing directly rather than rely on either summary.
The three television series are unaffected for now. Cord Cutters News reports that Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe all remain on Prime Video, with no removal notices attached. And there is a free alternative for the film that started it all: Roland Emmerich's original Stargate has been streaming at no cost on Pluto TV since July 1, as reported by CBR at the end of June.
The timing is awkward. The catalogue shuffle arrives less than two months after Amazon MGM Studios halted Martin Gero's new Stargate series before filming, and while the fan-led #SaveStargate campaign is actively asking supporters to "watch, rewatch, rate, review, and add Stargate titles to your watchlist where they are legally available" on the grounds that "streaming data matters." Fewer Stargate titles on Prime Video means fewer places for that data to register.
