Atlantis Sells Out as BlueBrixx Puts the Rest of Its Stargate Range Back on the Shelf
Good news for anyone who has spent the summer staring at "announced" labels in the BlueBrixx shop: most of the German brick maker's officially licensed Stargate sets are available to order again. German fan site Stargate Project reported on 13 August that the range had been widely unavailable for some time, partly as a knock-on effect of the company's sweeping Summer Sale, and that stock levels have now recovered across most of the line.
Among the returning sets is the X-303 Prometheus, Earth's first hyperspace-capable battlecruiser, rendered in 2,301 pieces with a flat-silver finish and a printed window section (€159.95). Also back are the USB-lit 1:1 Zero Point Module (1,289 pieces, €79.95), the Milky Way, Pegasus and Universe chevrons, the Ancient warship Aurora (1,159 pieces, €79.95), the F-302 space fighter (1,386 pieces, €99.95), both Asgard ship types — Thor's Beliskner (1,196 pieces, €99.95) and the O'Neill class (1,470 pieces, €119.95) — the Goa'uld Alkesh bomber (1,244 pieces, €99.95), and the four SG-1 "Brick Buddies" display figures of Jack O'Neill, Samantha Carter, Daniel Jackson and Teal'c at €17.95 each.
The one conspicuous gap is the newest model. Atlantis — item 108747, 2,041 pieces, 350 x 350 x 320 mm, €99.95, complete with a Daedalus miniature — went on sale at the end of July and is now listed as "Coming soon" on BlueBrixx's own product page, with an email form for shoppers who want to be told when it returns. Demand for the set had been flagged well before launch. BlueBrixx's Stargate category currently lists 18 products in total, including a 2,591-piece Gate Room build with minifigures of the SG-1 team, gear-driven blast doors and an interchangeable iris and event horizon, and a 1,037-piece Wraith Cruiser.
With availability broadly restored and a Puddle Jumper with Space Gate already teased as the next release, the licence looks in healthier shape than it did a month ago. One caveat worth noting: BlueBrixx states that prices and availability are updated according to the delivery country you select, so what UK-based fans see may differ from the figures above.
