Stargate Universe's David Blue Joins the Cast of Psychological Thriller Grace
David Blue, who played Eli Wallace across both seasons of Stargate Universe, has been cast in Grace, a psychological thriller now shooting in Waco, Texas. Variety reported the casting in its film news round-up, noting that Team Wave Entertainment has launched production with actor and filmmaker Malcolm Goodwin — familiar to genre audiences from iZombie and Reacher — directing.
Blue joins an ensemble led by Jessica Harmon, David Anders and Taylor Aronson, alongside Lele Pons, Krause Cruz, Isabelle Hahn, Elliot Guess and Renes Rivera. Per the film's official synopsis, Grace follows a devoted wife and mother whose seemingly perfect life is shattered when she is thrust into a high-stakes, real-time crisis that forces her to confront devastating secrets hidden within her marriage. Details of Blue's particular role have not been announced.
For Stargate Universe fans, Blue remains inseparable from Eli — the reluctant maths prodigy recruited off a video game to crack the ninth chevron, then stranded aboard Destiny with the rest of the Icarus survivors. Since the series ended he has worked steadily in television and independent film, and has stayed one of the most visible SGU cast members in the fan community.
The casting was picked up by German fan site Stargate Project on 30 July, and arrives during an unusually busy stretch for the wider franchise, with the #SaveStargate campaign still pressing Amazon MGM Studios over the cancelled Martin Gero series. No release date for Grace has been set.
