#SaveStargate Goes Global: Campaign Builds a Cross-Border Coalition of Fan Communities

The fan push to revive Martin Gero's cancelled Stargate series has grown beyond a hashtag into an organized, international coalition. The campaign's hub at savestargate.com now formally lists a roster of endorsing Stargate communities spanning the US, UK and France, alongside a unified action guide and a single recommended petition for supporters to rally behind.
Among the communities the hub credits as official endorsers are GateWorld and the interview-and-livestream channel Dial the Gate, plus two French organizations — the long-running reference site Stargate-Fusion and the fan association Stargate SG4F — and the YouTube channel SciTrek. The francophone community has been central from the start: French fans helped coordinate the June 10 “tweetstorm” that drove #SaveStargate to the top of X's trending charts. The hub now directs everyone to a single endorsed Change.org petition, “Save Stargate with Martin Gero!”, which has gathered tens of thousands of verified signatures.
Support has also begun reaching beyond the core fandom. The hub highlights backing from outside the Stargate community, including the French localization-advocacy group TouchePasMaVF and veteran French voice actor Brigitte Lecordier, both of whom have publicly endorsed the campaign. Organizers stress the effort is an unofficial, fan-led advocacy push not affiliated with Amazon, MGM or the rights holders.
The campaign follows Amazon MGM's decision, first reported by Variety on June 2, 2026, not to move forward with Gero's series — reportedly over concerns the show wouldn't have broad appeal beyond the existing fanbase. Gero remains under an overall deal at Amazon MGM Studios.
