Four SG-1 Leads Head to Birmingham as Starfury's Ascension 2 Arrives August 28
The next big date on the Stargate calendar is three weeks out. Starfury: Ascension 2 runs August 28–30, 2026 at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, UK — a three-day fan convention built around guest talks, photo and autograph sessions, a cosplay competition and nightly parties. The venue sits beside Birmingham Airport, roughly two hours northwest of London.
The guest line-up currently listed on Starfury's event page brings together four Stargate SG-1 leads — Richard Dean Anderson (Jack O'Neill), Amanda Tapping (Samantha Carter), Michael Shanks (Daniel Jackson) and Corin Nemec (Jonas Quinn) — alongside Lexa Doig (Carolyn Lam), Teryl Rothery (Janet Fraiser), Alex Zahara and Dan Payne. Anderson, Tapping, Shanks and Doig are billed as Extra Guests; Rothery is a Bonus Guest; Zahara, Payne and Nemec are Regular Guests. GateWorld's write-up of the event also listed Atlantis' Rainbow Sun Francks, who does not appear on the organiser's current guest grid.
Starfury sells weekend-only tickets: Gold at £280 and Regular at £135. Both include entry to all three days, every Q&A, the opening and closing ceremonies, the evening parties, a souvenir booklet and one free autograph from each Regular Guest. Gold adds a free autograph from each Bonus Guest, the Friday-night Meet & Greet and priority seating. Extra Guest autographs must be purchased separately by all ticket holders. Tickets are online-only and are not sold at the door. The announced party themes are an SGC Welcome Reception on Friday, The Gods & Goddesses Gala on Saturday, and Jack O'Neill's Cabin Party on Sunday.
Starfury has run UK sci-fi and fantasy events since 1997, and Ascension 2 follows the first Ascension in 2025. Guest appearances are, as always, subject to change — check the organiser's page before booking travel.
